We have always felt that YWAM doesn’t say good-bye well. We have a love feast and send them on their way, never to have contact with them again. We’re family and have a responsibility to continue the relationship after they leave to make sure they leave healthy and are transplanted back into society with our blessing. We know that YWAM teaching sometimes ruins you for the ordinary. The local church usually isn’t at the same level of worship and teaching as YWAM, and this creates a breeding ground for the enemy to bring in discouragement or pride or any number of other issues.
SORRY, I didn’t mean to get on a soap box, but I’m passionate about seeing the body of Christ set free and become whole. Cheri and I are honored to be the new US coordinators for YWAM Associates because we feel strongly that the Lord can use us to connect former YWAMers for fellowship, teaching and healing. To see them return to ministry, either on the mission field or the local church. To see them complete and fulfill the calling of God in their lives, so the Lord will someday say to them “Well done” and not what have you done for me.
As you may guess, this type of ministry needs a great deal of money to make it effective. We will be traveling all across the US setting up meetings and large retreats. We will never ask a former missionary for financial support. We are there to support them, not the other way around. My wife and I live totally in faith and are in the process of raising funds to get this ministry off and running. We need money for our personal needs. I.e.: home, car, INS, food, etc as well as the office and travel. As I have been pressing into the Lord for His direction in fund raising, He has shown me that I need to look for a “New” provision. Something that we haven’t seen before. I’m very excited to see how He will do this.
